Groningen joins the Open Library of the Humanities

The University of Groningen has joined the Open Library of the Humanities which means that researchers can now publish for free in the new peer-reviewed open access megajournal for the humanities. OLH is an initiative that aims to do what PLOS did for biology – to free academics from having their labour appropriated and sold back to them by commercial publishers.

It is described as follows:

OLH aims to develop a nonprofit, low-cost, peer-reviewed, ethically-driven, sustainable, and inclusive scholarly publishing venture. The goal is to be non-profit, but sustainable.
