German government wants to further cut back asylum rights

The history from the 90s seems to repeat itself: At that time, the big two German parties (SPD and CDU) used a months-long strings of racist terror attacks – with relatively little effort from the police to do something about them – to justify abolishing the constitutional right to asylum in Germany in a classic case of victim-blaming.

Now it’s 2015, there is, once more, a high number of racist terror attacks — and the government wants to further cut back on asylum rights.
